Maciej Makałowski is a UI designer based in Berlin with a background in fine art, photography, and graphic design and he is seeking a job as a UI/UX designer, graphic designer, or photographer. He is looking for full-time, part-time, or remote work in the Berlin area.
Maciej was born in Poznań, Poland but at age seven, he moved to Canada and then to the United States. Maciej has a BA in Political Science from the Pennsylvania State University, an MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute, and a Post-Baccalaureate in Graphic Design from Collegium Da Vinci. In 2022 he finished courses in UI Design and Animation for UI Designers. He has previously lived in Montreal, Washington DC, Pennsylvania, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
His visual art background has helped him gain a very good eye in composition, use of color, and aesthetics. People are always complimenting him on his use of color, whether it is in a painting, a photograph, in the way he dresses, or in the design for an app or website. His previous work experiences as a mental health counselor, photography instructor, operations manager, and hostel receptionist have prepared him in working with a variety of customers with many different needs. He have a user-centric approach to design and is a very empathetic person, he have an easy time seeing what customers and users would prefer and need. These jobs have also prepared him to be a great collaborator, a good listener, a good communicator, and to work calmly under stressful conditions. He is also in touch and familiar with the most recent and popular trends in design.
